THE FRENCH ALPS - Haute-Savoie Region
Our camper will spend their holiday in a typical mountain chalet in the center of the village of Châtel, an old Savoyard village with a long farming tradition Our campers will live among “the locals” who will share with them through the different activities offered during the program, their knowledge of the local fauna and flora, as well as the traditions of this beautiful region of France.

Today Châtel has a strong tourism infrastructure, l ocated between Lake Geneva and Mount Blanc, it is well placed on the “Portes du Soleil” circuit, with the world's biggest lift-linked ski area offering 650km (406 miles) of slopes.

Lodging : Our typical chalet built in 1970, 3 storey high and fully remodeled, offers rooms 4 to 6 beds (116 beds total) with shower facilities in each bedroom. A large dining-room with a view on the mountains, 4 activity rooms. It is located only a few minutes away from the center of the village.

Activities

Mountain Biking "VTT TRIAL":
3 sessions (2 hours) and 1 session (4 hours)
Discovery of the region on its beautiful mountain trails. During this activity campers will learn how to ride a bike safely while having a lot of fun! They will learn under the supervision of a professional instructor, the diverse techniques of mountain biking: crossing, movement, balance, slalom, rock climbing, slopes, bridges etc…
The session will end on a 2 days long-distance rallys / Camping trip in the mountains.

Water Sports "COCKTAIL NAUTIQUE":

- River Rafting : 2 sessions. Going down the Dranse River.

- Hot Dog: You'll have the time of your life on this "water weenie" designed for 1 to 3 riders. DARE YOU to climb on, hang on and have some serious fun going down river!

- River boarding (or Hydro speed): wearing fins to navigate easily in river currents, our campers will learn new swimming techniques! Wetsuits, gloves, booties, helmets and knee pads are worn as protection from the cold and from rocks. (1 session)

Activities will be scheduled according to the wishes of the children and the propositions of the teaching staff.

Choice of Field Trips:

- Visit if the City of Thonon-les-Bains (literally, Thonon-the-Baths) a picturesque French spa town located on the south shore of Lake Geneva.

- Shopping in Châtel and Thonon-les-Bains;

- Camping trip on the shores of Lake Geneva (also called lake Leman), located half in France and half in Switzerland, this is the largest natural freshwater lake in western Europe (582 km²) . Relaxing near the lake beneath the French Alps helps bring home the full grandeur of the setting!

10 days session :     
- Mountain biking : 2 sessions
- River Rafting  : 1 session
- Hydrospeed or Hotdog: 1 session
- 1 Biking/camping trip
- 1 choice of cultural visit
- 1 day at the swimming pool in Châtel

20 days session:     
- Mountain biking : 4 sessions
- River Rafting  : 2 sessions
- 1 Hydrospeed session and 1 Hotdog session
- 2 Biking/camping trips
- 2 choices of cultural visits
- 2 days at the swimming pool in Châtel
