Our camp is located near the village of Saint-Affrique in the “Parc Naturel des Grands Causses”; a region designated as a National Parc for its natural beauty.

Situated on 40 hectares of land, offering miles of trails, our equestrian center provides a large area of covered training facilities, with indoor and outdoor arenas, jumping arenas, course of obstacles, a club-house, a cross-country course, and of course stables, 50 ponies and horses and all necessary equipment.
Our campers will be sharing rooms of 4 to 5 beds with shower facilities. A restaurant, an amphitheater, a stage, reading rooms, a TV room and many activity rooms are available as well as a gymnasium with a basket ball court, a volley ball court, a dojo for martial art, a indoor rock climbing wall and plenty of space for other sport activities.
Theme
Under the supervision of professionals, our campers will learn the techniques of horseback riding. Divided in small teams our riders will be stimulated by the variety of situations encountered during their training but also by the specific equipment used to help them progress quickly: they will learn how to control their speed, their direction, and their balance!
During their stay they will also learn how to take good care of their horse/pony. Progressively, a bond between the children and the animals will take place... as they learn to know each other during activities.
Activities
ACTIVITE EQUESTRE :
Horseback riding activities: taking care and feeding of the horses, field trips and camping trips, equestrian shows and games, horse ball, Acrobatics, jumping fences...
Horseback riding trips: depending on their age and level, each camper will have a chance to ride on the many forest trails surrounding the center to practice their new riding skills.
Introduction to equestrian acrobatics: Acrobatics in circles, by team, riding the horse while expressing grace, flexibility and strength will be the goal in this activity. Equestrian acrobatics is the performance of acrobatics on a moving horse. It is one of the oldest and safest equestrian disciplines, and best of all, it does not require you to have your own horse! Campers will begin with easy exercises in walk, and then gradually progress to choreographed freestyle performances. Each lesson focuses on safety and having fun. No previous riding experience is necessary. In fact, vaulting will help them learn to ride or become a better rider!
Carriage rides near the center will also be proposed to the children, a nice way to learn and discover the techniques of the harness while exploring the forest surrounding the camp.
OTHER ACTIVITIES:
Medieval workshops:
Campers will experience and learn about the medieval lifestyle by making costumes, tools and weapons (leather, stone and wood work), they will also draw their personal coat of arm.
Making a wooden sword: with the help of their camp counselors, each camper will get to make his/her own sword and decorate it with leather strips and with upholstery tacks
Introduction to sculpting (stone work) – making a Templar Cross
Drawing and Painting
“Indian Camp” workshops:
Decoration of the Tipi, designing and building furniture and painting it using Native American symbols.
Making a Totem
Making a bow (and learning to shoot with it of course!)
Native American arts and crafts: making musical instruments, leather purses, moccasins, dream catchers using pearls and feathers
Other Activities
Camping, swimming, archery, volley-ball, ping-pong, reading, games, treasure hunts…and evening parties!
Choice of Field trips
Medieval castle of Montaigut, famous Templar cities...
10 Days session :
- Horseback riding: 5 sessions (2 hours)
- Medieval workshops OR Indian camp workshop: 5 sessions
- 1 BBQ dinner / Camping under tents or tipis
- 1 Field trip / historical visit
- 1 day at the swimming pool in the town of Saint-Affrique.
Sur 20 jours :
- Horseback riding: 10 sessions (2 hours)
- Medieval workshops OR Indian camp workshop: 10 sessions
- 2 BBQ dinners / Camping under tents or tipis
- 2 Field trips / historical visits
- 21 days at the swimming pool in the town of Saint-Affrique.
Activities will be scheduled (programmed) according to the wishes of the children and the propositions of the teaching staff.
